LEADERSHIP STANDARDS
Communication
- STANDARD 3; Public Speaking 1. The student leader acknowledges the audience and purpose of the occasion and adapts speech and content accordingly. During the 2022 summer I got the experience to go to a CADA Leadership Camp in Santa Barbara. While I was there I got the opportunity to lead our morning program. Meaning I had to public speak in front of 500+ students, advisors, and camp staff. I started our morning and welcomed students and staff to the "program on the green". I also got to teach the campers a short dance to get them going. |
Semester 2
-STANDARD 6: Evaluation and feedback
2. Following an activity, this student leader reflects upon the activity's successes and areas for growth through an individual, small group, whole group, and whole school evaluation process. As ASB President I am always reflecting on how our group of student leaders presents themselves and presents events. The leadership class got the opportunity to involve themselves in the Outstanding Leadership Program award. We created an application filled with feedback from teachers, staff, students in and outside of the leadership class. We all worked together to create something we were extremely proud of. Each council worked on a specific part of the application, mine got to create a video and ask students and staff around campus about their honest opinions on our HOOPLA 2023 week.

Personal & Social Development
-STANDARD 1; Group Dynamics
3. The student leader assumes a leadership role in an activity or group work that allows them to facilitate and direct the group’s activities.
Over the summer, I got the chance to experience a CADA Leadership camp. Throughout the 5 days I was there, we got split into councils. Meaning I was talking to someone new every day and even multiple times a day. I got to connect with people my age, younger than me, staff, and camp advisors who all share a common interest of leadership and a main goal of achieving unity and community around our campuses. Being around such incredible and like-minded people really shaped me and made me beyond excited to tackle my last year in high school with the knowledge I gained from everyone at CADA. I am even more excited to bring it back to my campus and show everyone in my leadership class what we learned at this camp. I hope to leave a CADA legacy on Tracy High that will live on forever.

Civic & Service Learning
-STANDARD 1; Civic and community engagement 1. The student leader develops partnerships with various students, schools, parents, and community groups. As a student in leadership my main goal is to help our community in anyway I can. First I want to talk about The Lisa Project. Myself and three other students got the chance to help run a child abuse awareness presentation. As touchy as a subject it was, it was good to see how much awareness it brought to students. Another example is my Ag/Science senior project. I went to class and saw a packet about an SRO on campus having type 1 diabetes. He was interested in starting a club called Team Diabetes on campus. I was very interested so one day I went up and introduced myself. Three months later I am now the club president and attend meeting where myself, adults, friends, peers, and others can talk about their feelings and struggles with type 1 diabetes. I want to let people know they are not alone and so many people are going throuugh the same thing. |
Semester 2
-STANDARD 3: community service
1. The student leader establishes relationships with community leaders and community groups to help address a community need. During February and March I helped the Tracy High Dance Team with a clinic and dance team try-outs. I was a 4 year member of the team, and my coach needed help. I love this team and gave extra time to create dances, across the floor routines, and warmups for new incoming members trying out. I gave back to my community.
