My name is Emerson Leiske and I am currently a senior at THS. This is my fourth year in the leadership class and I am proud to say I am the ASB President! After holding a class officer position of freshman class president and sophomore class president I decided to take a step farther. I wanted to hold a position where I not only help lead my class but the whole student body. After one year of being in the ASB cabinet as ASB Treasurer, I ran for the position of ASB President. One of my favorite goals is to make every student who walks on campus happy and comfortable. I want to see Tracy High be spirited and supportive of each other. Whether it is a Dog Pound on Friday night, watching a water polo game, or supporting our theater when they have shows. One other activity I am involved in, is being a four year member and captain of the Tracy High Dance Team. I love getting to teach and share my love and passion for dance with my fellow peers. I have been dancing for 14 years and I hope to leave a legacy on that team that will not be forgotten. A hope that I have for the school year is to get back onto campus like we never left, to have students feel comfortable at school, and to get people involved because having school spirit is so much fun. Things I like outside of school are Disney, dancing, working out, hanging out with my friends, and jamming out to music! My after high school dreams... and hopefully soon a reality are to attend a four year college where I can try-out for their dance team! Another goal is to become either a sports medicine doctor or orthopedist. Going to these doctors has taught me that I want to help people heal as much as these doctors have helped me. Lastly, my main personal goal for this year is to meet new people, gain more confidence, and to step out of my comfort zone in and out of the classroom.
Education History Elementary School: Louis Bohn Elementary School (2009-2015) Middle School: Earle E. Williams (2016-2019) High School: Tracy High School (2019-2023) Ag/Science Academy: 3 years Competitive Dance: 11 years Dance Team: 4 years -11th Grade: Co-Captain -12th Grade: Captain Leadership: 6 years -7th grade: Spirit Commissioner -8th grade: Vice President -9th grade: Freshman Class President -10th grade: Sophomore Class President -11th grade: Associated Student Body Treasurer -12th grade: Associated Student Body President In elementary school, I did not join the offered student council as I did not know what it had to offer. In middle school, I joined leadership and it was the best decision I have ever made. My eighth grade year I was vice president and had to learn a lot and matured a lot to prepare myself for high school leadership. Making that scary decision to fill out a Freshman Vice President application for Tracy High set me up to gain awesome leadership skills and amazing experiences I would have never had if it were not for the class. This is my fourth year at Tracy High where I was freshman class president, sophomore class president, ASB treasurer, and now ASB President. My job in that class is so fun, incredible, and resourceful. I am very thankful to be apart of such a welcoming and hard working family. It truly has changed my life and I would not be the person I am without it. All together this is my sixth year in a leadership class. Along with leadership, I am a three year member of the Ag/Science Academy program. I did not join the program my freshman year but knew I needed more of a push and a challenge going into sophomore year. Transferring into the program has helped me break out of my shell and be able to take in information quicker.
This quote is from a song by The Zac Brown Band. From the song As She's walking Away. This song has gotten me through a really hard time in my life. I think the quote represents that even if you are struggling, to not give up on your dreams. Going through the feeling of regret is not gonna help you grow in the long run and even in the moment. When you need to do something, go out and do it. Don't sit in the what-ifs of your life because what is meant for you will come to you. Whether it is right now, or in the future. #NOREGRETS
This quote is by Chris Stapleton. This one is from the song Starting Over. This song has a huge meaning in my life, as you can tell by the name of the song it is talking about starting over. Which is a hard task to do. especially being young, many things are easier said than done. I think this quote symbolizes going through a hard time but coming out stronger. If you are not willing or afraid to take chances and achieve your goals then you will not "win" This is a really good message to people struggling with motivation and think that their dreams are not possible.
